Born in India but raised and educated in the U.S., and as founder and Managing
Partner of India Global Advisors, Sumeet “Sam” Nangia, Esq., has a unique
background that includes U.S. deal-making experience, including industry, legal and
tax experience, with total deal volume exceeding U.S. $1.3 Billion Dollars, along with
the local India know-how, and deep industry, professional and government
relationships in India.

With over 14 years of business and legal experience, advising clients in various
industries including real estate, franchising, retail, manufacturing and technology,
and being well versed in acquisitions, finance, joint ventures and leasing, Mr. Nangia
has experience managing and working on teams and projects as a business and legal
advisor, including strategic planning, project oversight and integration.
As an experienced advisor, attorney and real estate broker, and having an ability to
explain complex issues and offer practical solutions, Mr. Nangia often acts as the
communication hub for projects in the U.S., as well as cross-border deals with the
U.S. and India.

Education & Experience:

Mr. Nangia received his J.D. from Loyola Law School, and also LL.M’s in Taxation and
International Law / Corporate Law from the University of San Diego School of Law,
and B.A.’s in Economics and Political Science from the University of California, Los
Angeles (UCLA).

Mr. Nangia started his career in KPMG’s International Tax Advisory services group,
where he worked on teams advising middle-market and Fortune 500 companies on
international tax planning strategy, including holding company structures, tax treaty
analysis and planning, the foreign tax credit regime, and other tax planning
strategies, primarily related to outbound transactions and businesses.
Mr. Nangia has worked with several prominent Southern California based law firms
and large private-sector companies, including Shea Properties and Empire
Company, advising and working with some of the largest companies in the U.S. and
India, including Lennar Homes, KB Homes, Shea Properties, Stater Bros., the Unitech
Group (India).

In addition to Mr. Nangia’s business and legal advisory experience, he co-founded
various start ups, including real estate brokerage and investment firms, as well as 
high tech companies specializing in the development and management of social
media mobile apps and platforms.

Mr. Nangia is an active member of the business and real estate community and holds
various boards of director and advisory board positions, including the Southland
EDC (a non-profit CDC assisting the small business community through the U.S.
Small Business Administration’s 504 loan program).
